Music producer Bastian Benjamin leaves his listeners speechless once again with the highly experimental yet delicate offering ‘Threshold’. The single is one of four of his latest offerings to feature on his highly anticipated album release Two Truths on the 4th of December.
Bastian Benjamin gives his fans insight on the new single’s meaning: “The moment when the end is in sight, and you can already touch the light. Is the moment where one final sprint is going to occur. And you will have to do it all yourself.
Carrying an uplifting note, ‘Threshold’ possesses similar energy to its predecessor ‘Confrontation’.Muze FM commented on ‘Confrontation’ recently, “‘Confrontation’ hooks the listener into a world of possibility and wonder, with Benjamin‘s mystical and enchanting notes that ease the mind for its duration.”
‘Threshold’ inspires the listener to take that leap, or fall before the victory. Exuding with bold & rich electronics, Benjamin finds a divine balance of experimental harmony and an uplifting melody.
Music producer JORI SJÖROOS has unleashed his latest masterpiece, song titled ‘GOTH PERREO’ with critically acclaimed songstress Chisu, and let us just say that it has the ingredients of a charming nightmare.
DoofDoof shares, “Filled with distorted electronic beats and melodic and angelic vocals from songstress Chisu, ‘GOTH PERREO’ feels like a beautifully haunting dance between darkness and light.
JORI SJÖROOS speaks about the song’s concept, “I was jamming with a reggaeton beat and wanted to push it as dark as possible. I had this image of 2 people twerking each other in a dark club built in a church made of stone. I needed some classic vibes for the song so I requested opera vocals from my wife who’s an artist and an extraordinary singer. I’m inspired by the freaky Latin American underground reggaeton/dancehall movement called “Neo Perreo”, and as a fan, I wanted to do my own “Perreo” which became “GOTH PERREO”.”
JORI SJÖROOS adds balance with Chisu’s soothing vocals, but JORI SJÖROOS still manages to shine with beautiful chaos throughout the track.
IDM composer, Vincenzo Ramaglia is known for his unconventional style and he brings more of it in his latest album La parole. The album was released on 14 February 2020 via PEM Records and features the celestial vocals of the vocally gifted, Laure Le Prunenec. The album was realized via an alternative set-up, which involved no influence from computer generated soundscapes.
Vincenzo receives his inspiration from talents like Autechre, Björk, Arvo Pärt and Radiohead for his avant-garde style. Laura Le Prunenec adds her own mark on the tracks with her haunting vocal range. She has vocal similarities to that of Elizabeth Frazer by creating melodies before the word is sung to completion. Laura has received attention from various projects, a noteworthy collaboration would be her involvement with world-acclaimed French band Igorrr. La parole is an equal collaboration for both Vincenzo and Laura to shine in their own light. Vincenzo creates an unsettling soundscape, that Laura compliments with her echoing melodies and soprano range.
“It offers an alternation of hypnotic atmospheres and broken rhythms, somewhere between composition and improvisation, with Laure Le Prunenec’s voice that has long gone straight to everyone’s heart, around the world, with its thousand shades: from the whisper to the scream, from the ‘growl’ of metal ancestry to the lyric and from the bass to the falsetto and to the highest range. The style of the album is at the crossroads between IDM electronic avant-garde (in the mood of Warp and Raster-Noton artists), ‘real-time breakcore’ (with an analog electronic setup strictly without a computer) and experimental pop. In short: a mixture that is not easy to find.”
