Melodic rock band Certain Animals announce debut album

Songs To Make You Move is the debut album of Rotterdam rock trio Certain Animals: melodic rock filled with vocal harmonies. The album was recorded in their self-built Deer Sound Studio in the port of Rotterdam. On their first long play record, the band does not hesitate to pay homage to their musical heroes, whose vinyl records are on the boys’ turntable every day. The Beatles, Beach Boys, Neil Young, Crosby, Stills & Nash and Electric Light Orchestra are regularly pulled off the shelf, but the fuzzy and phasey work of contemporary bands like Tame Impala is also unmistakably heard on Songs To Make You Move. Certain Animals have matured, and you can hear that on their debut album. The band does not pretend to be rougher than it is and is not louder than what the song calls for. Besides their bulging LP collections, the love for music is reflected in twelve dazzling tracks. Certain Animals honestly show what they love. From Automaton’ to ‘Zenithis’, Songs To Make You Move, a record for music lovers, by music lovers.

In less then three years, the band managed to build a strong live reputation by playing shows on major Dutch festivals in famous venues all over the country, and they also performed across the border in Belgium and Germany. Their intriguing sound makes for energetic live shows filled with intimate moments and explosive bursts of energy.

Since October last year they have been releasing a steady stream of eight singles. This to the delight of an ever growing number of (inter)national fans, radiostations and blogs. The singles were featured in Spotify New Music Friday and New Alternative playlists a.o., Apple Music New Music Daily and Best Of The Week, and iTunes Alternative & All Genres charts in Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Sweden. They got airplay in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Poland, Austria, Croatia, UK, Jamaica, Australia, Canada and US.

And what about the incredible album artwork? A nice detail is the Rotterdam skyline in the background!

The album release concert is 25 September in prestigious De Doelen, Rotterdam in The Netherlands

May 6, 2020 Italian Jazz songstress Lisabel releases her debut album

Italian Jazz songstress Lisabel releases her debut album

London based singer-songwriter Lisabel has released her debut album, A Work Of Art on May 5th. The album was recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered at Brother Sun Sister Moon Productions Studio by Nikola Kovačević. Thus far, she has been supported by the likes of Le Future Wave, comeherefloyd, Talk About Pop Music. Lisabel has received airplay from Pheonix FM’s Bob Simpson, resulting in close to 36 000 plays across streaming platforms. The songstress has played in renowned London music venues such as The Half Moon, Pizza Express Jazz Club (Soho and Chelsea), O2 Academy Islington to name a few.

Lisabel shares her thoughts on the album, “A Work of Art is a collection of songs that all share the theme of love from various points of view, often using metaphors to refer to a lover. A work of art is commonly portrayed as an object/creation of beauty, inside of which we can lose ourselves due to an overwhelming feeling that we can’t quite point out. In Lisabel’s mind, ‘A Work of Art’ is a person who she believes to be a symbol of joy, kindness, and love, an imperfect soul whose purity is unmistakable and undeniable. The album unfolds in a chronological order which follows personal events that have inspired Lisabel to write the songs. Starting from ‘Salamander Souls’ and ending with ‘Dear Moon’, each song represents a feeling and a moment in which Lisabel experienced a positive revelation about the beauty of life, people, love, and nature.

Lisabel takes you on a journey of romance, joy, and life in her debut. Her graceful vocals shine throughout the album, which is a well-integrated and wholesome work of art.

April 29, 2020 Music producer Joris Delacroix releases new song ‘Stay’

Music producer Joris Delacroix releases new song ‘Stay’

Eclectic French DJ and producer Joris Delacroix marks his first single release of 2020 with ‘Stay’, was out 24th April on Hungry Music.

An innovative, refined take on trance, ‘Stay’ pairs emotion-drenched euphoria with light, airy synths, creating a track that is both honest and restrained. It follows on from ‘Time To Lose’, last summer’s similarly stirring Hungry Music debut. Earlier this year Delacroix also remixed ‘Irani’, a single from fellow French artist Teho, and a track from Tinlicker for the iconic Anjunabeats imprint.

“I can’t explain the track’s story exactly but the inspiration is simple and positive,” Joris explains. “The spirit is all about sharing, as I let the public decide the track name to see what the theme means for them.”

Growing up in the south of France and playing the piano from a young age, Delacroix grew up immersed in the classic French Touch sound synonymous with the late 90s and early 2000s, before launching a music career of his own with a release on local label Way Of House. He has since released two albums and a slew of singles and EPs, with his trademark sound underlining a unique universe in which electronic and melodic sonorities melt into each other.
