Pinero|Serene give rise to ‘Dead Flowers’ in their enchanting new single

Setting the atmospheric tone ahead of their upcoming EP, Dark Matter, alternative dream pop-duo PINERO|SERENE convey an ethereal soundscape tale in form of a new single titled ‘Dead Flowers’. Premiered on the 28th of June by TMRW Magazine, this euphonious sound piece single preludes their upcoming EP, Dark Matter, set for a release on the 12th of July.

Following their recent premiere of ‘Take My Soul’ on Clash magazine, the single ‘Dead Flowers’ curates a lucid story. The lyrics, “till you rise again, I’ll wait for you, till you rise again, through day and through night” are a sonnet fuse of endearment, juxtaposed against the production of encapsulating bass strings.

If Neeq’s eloquent writing and Cheryl’s (great) bass playing are anything to go by, the EP sure promises to be a cosmic offer. The London based duo draw inspiration from Portishead, Massive Attack, Radiohead, Warpaint, Smashing pumpkins, Jeff Buckley and Placebo.

Their alluringly synchronised energies breed what FGUK magazine has termed as ‘beautifully matched and melancholy.’ The duo’s enthralling sound beautifully merge to compliment the members’ individuality. For writer and vocalist Neeq, words have always been [her] way out and it’s a natural instinct to want to sing them with conviction, while Cheryl focuses much more on the energy, flow and mood of the melody or rhythm. This is apparent in their latest multi textured sonic offering.

Speaking of the track PINERO|SERENE comment: “‘Dead Flowers’ is the last in the chain of a four-track EP, which takes you on a journey through personal evolution. It’s about facing the fear of letting go, to make space for a new dimension of existence and perception.”
